“I want to have a picnic on my own lawn,” Sarah said—capturing her desire for a space that felt just as livable and inviting as the interior of her home.
The Challenge
Sarah’s backyard lacked structure, personality, and purpose. The open lawn offered little shade or opportunity for entertaining—and didn’t reflect the warm, elevated aesthetic she wanted for her home.
“We looked so bad out here… We weren’t going to keep one thing on this property—not a baby grass, not a tree, not a bush, nothing,” Sarah shared. “Outside is as important as the inside, because we are out here all the time…”
She envisioned a space that invited relaxation, encouraged connection, and gave her family room to enjoy the outdoors in comfort—without compromising on design.
“I just wanted the open space for the kids to play…” she added.
