Builds
This Preston Hollow estate is a complete outdoor living design and build — every element designed and constructed by Blount Designs from the ground up.
What came together is one of the most complete outdoor living environments we've built in Dallas — formal gardens framing the approach, a resort pool anchored by a custom negative edge spa, a regulation tennis court that converts to pickleball, a bocce ball court, a covered outdoor kitchen and lounge, water features throughout, and landscape lighting that makes the entire property as impressive at 9pm as it is at noon.

The Pool & Negative Edge Spa
The aquatic environment anchors the entire back of the property. At its center is a custom negative edge spa finished in dark mosaic tile — water sheeting silently over the edge into the pool below, creating the kind of visual detail that reads as resort-level design rather than residential. The contrast between the dark tile and the pool's lighter finish is deliberate — it draws the eye and defines the spa as its own architectural element rather than an afterthought bolted to the side of the pool.
In-pool loungers extend from the shallow end, positioned for afternoon sun exposure with a direct sightline to the covered lounge area. The geometric pool design complements the home's architecture — clean lines, precise proportions, nothing decorative that doesn't serve the overall composition.
Water features integrated into the pool surround add movement and sound to the space — not overwhelming, but enough that the environment feels alive even when nobody's in the water.
What's included in this aquatic environment:
Custom negative edge spa with dark mosaic tile finish
In-pool loungers — sun shelf configuration for afternoon use
Integrated pool water features
LED lighting for evening ambiance
Automated systems for low-maintenance operation in the Dallas heat

Front Yard & Formal Garden Design
The front of the property sets the tone for everything behind it. We designed a formal garden that frames the home's architecture rather than competing with it — structured planting beds with sculptural fountains as focal points, seasonal color layered through perennials and adapted plantings that thrive in North Dallas clay soil without constant intervention.
The approach from the street is intentional — a sequence of spaces that builds anticipation before you reach the front door. Curb appeal at this level isn't about adding more; it's about editing deliberately and making every element earn its place.Outdoor Entertainment Spaces

Tennis, Pickleball & Bocce Ball Courts

The recreation zone on this property handles serious use. A regulation-size tennis court — oriented north-south for proper sun management during afternoon play — converts to pickleball with line markings that serve both sports without visual conflict. Professional-grade surface materials spec'd for Dallas weather cycles: the expansion and contraction demands of North Texas summers and occasional freezes require a different approach than courts built for milder climates.
Court lighting designed for evening play without washing the surrounding landscape. Privacy screening through strategic planting and fencing that complements the estate's architectural language rather than looking like a retrofit.
The bocce ball court is positioned adjacent — a European detail that fits naturally with the formal garden aesthetic of this property. Traditional crushed oyster shell surface, integrated seating with shade structure, custom lighting for evening games.

Covered Outdoor Kitchen & Lounge
The covered outdoor kitchen and lounge connects the interior of the home directly to the pool environment — the transition is seamless enough that guests move between inside and outside without thinking about it. That flow is designed, not accidental. Door placement, grade, ceiling height, and material continuity between interior and exterior flooring are all decisions made at the design phase that determine whether an outdoor kitchen feels like an extension of the home or an attachment to it.
Professional-grade appliances, integrated sound and lighting, built-in seating designed for how this family actually entertains — not a catalog selection, but a purpose-built environment.
